City of Muscatine IEDA Reinvestment Act Grant and Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities

The City of Muscatine has partnered with Tom and Ann Meeker to apply for Iowa Reinvestment Act grant funds.  The application requests $10 million in grant funds to assist in making the $41 million dollar project a reality.  The project includes a boutique hotel along the Mississippi River, renovating a downtown structure into a convention center and adding an adjacent parking garage.  This project has the potential of being the cornerstone for future downtown redevelopment in Muscatine.  In addition to this IEDA grant, the City has recently partnered with University of Iowa students and their Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities program to complete 13 different improvements projects.
